For the first time, Hammer-IMS exhibits on the ITMA ASIA expo in Shanghai, China. This milestone event is China's most important textile event. "We are here to further extend our geographical reach and explore the huge Chinese market," says Tom Redant, CTO of Hammer-IMS. "We were able to scale geographically thanks to our non-nuclear M-Ray based systems for thickness and grammage measurement. Just recently, Hammer-IMS was awarded the VOKA Limburg export prize in Belgium. “We were able to scale geographically thanks to our non-nuclear M-Ray based systems for thickness and grammage measurement."
VOKA Limburg, a provincial section of the Flemish network of companies, awarded Hammer-IMS the 'Young Export Potential' prize. Hammer-IMS wins the prize in the category of promising companies, which resolutely opt for export to drive business growth.
DILO - a leading German producer of fully-integrated nonwoven production lines - will showcase a system of Hammer-IMS on ITMA 2019.
Every now and then, we give the word to one of our colleagues at Hammer-IMS. Today, Nele Reynders, Senior R&D Engineer, comments on the latest in measuring machine construction and measurement system integration.
We are happy to be featured in the Belgian Trends magazine. The article highlights our radar technology, which is a clean alternative for nuclear and radioactive measuring systems. Our M-Ray measuring solutions measure the basis-weight of nonwovens, fabrics, etc. and the thickness of plastics sheets and films. The solutions even support inline coating weight measurement of opaque materials, where X-Ray systems may fail.

Last month, Bart Goossens took on the role of senior R&D engineer. Building on experience with Option, Barco and Philips, he brings valuable engineering skills on hardware and software levels. Bart will contribute in optimizing the industrialization for the full range of innovative Hammer-IMS systems.

The industry-leading German magazine C2 featured the application story of Hammer-IMS successfully contributing to the production quality at ANL Plastics. The international producer of thermoformed plastic packaging – uses a Marveloc-CURTAIN measurement system from Hammer-IMS in its production facilities in Wellen, Belgium. The system contains four M-Ray sensors, continuously measuring the plastic thickness on an ANL Plastics production machine. ANL Plastics experiences the technology of Hammer-IMS as fast, robust, secure, ecologic and easy-to-install. Stefan Tielen, CEO ANL Plastics: "The disruptive technology of Hammer-IMS fits our strategy to play a leading role in downscaling the widespread use of X-ray and nuclear measuring systems in our sector.
The Hofer Vliesstofftage (8 - 9 November 2017) is the main event for technical innovations in the nonwoven industry.
ANL Plastics – an internationally renowned producer of thermoformed plastic packaging – is now using equipment from Hammer-IMS in its production facilities in Wellen, Belgium. Hammer-IMS, a joint start-up from KU Leuven University Belgium and LRM Belgium, recently delivered its Marveloc-CURTAIN measurement system to the packaging producer. The system contains four M-Ray sensors, continuously measuring the plastic thickness on an ANL Plastics production machine. ANL Plastics experiences the technology of Hammer-IMS as fast, robust, secure, ecologic and easy-to-install. The technology is considered as a potential game-changer for the plastic packaging market, since Hammer-IMS products do not use nuclear energy.
Last month, Hammer-IMS presented itself in C-mine where policy makers from Limburg province discussed with University Leuven the entanglement of Limburg and Leuven on the level of innovation.
