Types of defects

Discover the surface anomalies, structural flaws, and dimensional errors our systems can accurately identify.

While our signature sensor technologies (like the M-Ray) inspect the internal structure of your material, our 2D cameras scan the surface.

This technology allows us to detect visual defects such as scratches, cracks, stains, or shape deviations. Because no production line is the same, we match the exact camera type to your specific material and line speed. We offer three high-quality 2D camera technologies:

Camera Type

How it works

Ideal for

Key advantage

Area Camera

Takes complete 2D photos of a fixed area (a frame) at fixed intervals. Discrete parts, stationary objects, or lines running at lower, constant speeds. Easy to install, and perfect for specific zones or product shapes.

Line Scan Camera

Captures a single, razor-thin line of pixels. Lines are seamlessly glued together as material moves to create a continuous image. Continuous web inspection (nonwovens, textiles, paper, plastic films, metal sheets) at high speeds.  Zero motion blur and extremely high resolution across the entire width of the conveyor belt.

CIS Camera

Uses a long row of compact lenses and built-in LED lighting to scan material from a very close range (a few millimeters). Ideal for tight machine spaces and materials on a roller. Perfect for high-precision dimensional measurements. Completely distortion-free images right up to the edges (1:1 mapping) with perfectly integrated lighting.
